COMMERCIAL PROJECTS

1/1

The historic RNA Showgrounds are getting a facelift and Chelmstone is proud to be the principle supplier of pre-cast concrete tactiles to the project. Touted as one of Australia’s largest regeneration projects, the $2.9Billion upgrade of the Brisbane ShowGrounds comprises 5.5 hectares and will include the completed state-of-the-art Royal International Convention Centre, The Green Apartments and The Yards Residential Apartments.

Chelmstone joined forces with industry partners, Hutchinson’s Builders and Dig-IT Landscapes, providing a range of coloured tactile pavers to create this world-class regeneration project.  This is an exciting development for Brisbane City and we are proud to be a local manufacturer supplier to this project.

1/5

Chelmstone has recently manufactured paving to specification using CCS blended oxide specifically for this project.

Working closely with David North, Project Manager for Dig It Landscapes, the 800 x 400 and 600 x 450 paving was used in conjunction with granite slabs, showing how both mediums can be used in harmony together.

1/6

Chelmstone has worked with Place Planning Caloundra to provide paving, which was featured in the development of Arcadia Walk at Noosa Junction in Queensland.

Noosa Junction is a busy tourist spot, which is home to many thriving businesses. Paving used in this area has to be durable, but still have a pleasing aesthetic.

Chelmstone's Warwickstone paving, our ashlar paving sets and our tactile paving were used because of their practicality and suitability for medium vehicular traffic.

Latronics Factory - Caloundra

1/4

Chelmstone provided paving from our Graneco range for the Latronics factory at Moffatt Beach.

Chelmstone worked with PLACE Design Group on the project, which involved the supply of our honed, shotblast and square edge Natural Grey paving in a variety of sizes.

The durability and practicality of the Graneco paving made it the perfect product for this project.

As with any sale of 100m2 of our Graneco product, Chelmstone facilitated the planting of 34 trees on behalf of Latronics through Greening Australia.

The Hilton -
Gold Coast

1/5

Chelmstone supplied the recently opened Hilton hotel at Surfers Paradise with a range of Warwickstone paving and square-edge pool coping.

The landscape architect for the project, Kate King fromAECOM, worked with Chelmstone's sales consultants to create the design mix to suit the requirements of the hotel’s outdoor areas.

Chelmstone also worked with the building contractors,Multiplex Brookfield, Surfside Pools and Landscape Solutions in the supply of  our Warwickstone paving in Skye and Charcoal. Warwickstone square-edge pool coping in Skye was also used in the pool area of the hotel.

This project is a great example of the flexibility Chelmstone can bring to a project to enable the designer to achieve truly stunning results.

Gasworks -
Newstead

1/3

Chelmstone supplied Gasworks in Newstead, Brisbane with pre-cast concrete seats that were specifically designed and manufactured for this project.

Chelmstone worked in collaboration with contractor Dig It Landscapes.

This is a great example of an inner city rejuvenation of an old industrial area, to create a contemporary, urban precinct.

1/4

One of Chelmstone’s more recent projects was its work in the rehabilitation of Brisbane’s Legacy Way development, a AUD1.8 billion construction tunnel linking the Western Freeway at Toowong with the Inner City Bypass at Kelvin Grove.

Working closely with Dig-it Landscapes, Chelmstone was engaged by the Queensland Government to create a four hectare a sub-tropical retreat of native plants, lakes and walkways for Brisbane residents and visitors to enjoy. We supplied 60mm and 40mm Tactile Ground Surface Indicators (TGSIs) to the walkways, making the area more accessible by providing pedestrians who are blind or vision impaired with orientation information.

Our pre cast TGSI pavers are non-slip, reinforced with 90/40 fibre reinforcing for exceptional flexural strength and abrasion resistance, and made with CCS oxides for UV resistance and the versatility of toning the pavers to any colour required.

All our TGSIs are manufactured in accordance with the Australian Standards for access and mobility (AS1428.1). Choosing coloured TGSIs can provide an even safer environment by increasing luminance – the measure of brightness at a specific reflecting-point on the surface – to enhance nearby hazard indicators and generally improve visibility in public spaces.

Chelmstone has been supplying cautional and directional tactile ground surface indicators (TGSIs) for local councils and transport authorities since 1992. We make a range of tactile pavers and our experienced, in-house mould-maker allows us to provide custom made pavers and pre cast concrete seats for any project.
