Fibre Reinforced Polymer (Fibreglass) Tactile Indicators

Chelmstone stocks premium grade fibre reinforced polymer (fibreglass) tactile indicators with UV stabilisers.

Chelmstone stocks premium-grade Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) tactile indicators, also commonly referred to as fibreglass tactiles or fibreglass resin tactiles. Manufactured with UV stabilisers for enhanced durability and long-term outdoor performance, our surface-mounted FRP tactiles provide a robust retrofit solution for existing concrete, tiled and other hard surface applications.

Manufactured to comply with AS/NZS 1428.4.1 and independently tested to achieve a P5 slip rating, Chelmstone's fibreglass tactile indicators are available in warning and directional profiles in a range of standard colours, including white, black and yellow. They are widely specified for commercial buildings, public infrastructure, transport facilities and other projects requiring compliant tactile ground surface indicators and luminance contrast.

Fibreglass Warning (Cautional) Tactile Indicators

Warning (cautional) tactile indicators alert people with vision impairment to an approaching hazard or the need to stop and assess their surroundings before proceeding. They provide an important tactile cue before changes in level, platform edges and other potential hazards, helping create safer and more accessible public environments.

Typical applications include:

  • Stairways

  • Escalators

  • Kerb ramps

  • Railway platform edges

  • Bus stops

  • Tram stops

  • Pedestrian crossings

  • Driveways

  • Overhead hazards

Standard Size

  • 600 × 300 × 2 mm

Fibreglass Directional Tactile Indicators

Directional tactile indicators provide guidance for people with vision impairment by indicating the accessible path of travel where there are insufficient natural wayfinding cues such as walls, kerbs or handrails. They assist users in navigating safely through open public spaces, transport interchanges and building entrances.

Typical applications include:

  • Mid-block pedestrian crossings

  • Public transport access points

  • Building entrances

  • Public facilities

  • Accessible pathways

  • Open pedestrian areas

Standard Size

  • 600 × 300 × 2 mm
